2026 Travel Trends, how operators can win more business

What the new research says

Booking.com’s 2026 Travel Predictions show travelers want experiences that match personal interests. The study is in its tenth year and is based on 29,733 travelers across 33 countries and territories. Top themes include romantasy retreats, nature first “hushed hobbies,” tech shaped road trips, skincare focused “glow-cations,” and relationship “compatibility checks.”

Why this matters for your aerial adventure park or challenge course operation

These mindsets translate to on-site experiences, not just lodging. You can meet demand with themed night programs, social meet-ups, quiet nature loops, wellness touchpoints, photo recreation spots, and guided challenges that test teamwork. Each one could add revenue and broaden your audience.

Trend to grow your business

Romantasy retreats

Traveler signal. 71% are open to destinations inspired by romantasy. 39% would consider a role-play vacation. Many welcome AI suggestions that match storybook settings.

Revenue ideas. Transform your park into an enchanted, fairy-tale forest with mystical lighting, fog machines, and fantasy decorations Couples bundles, “main-character” photos, limited merch. Host fantasy-themed costume nights where couples can dress as elves, fae, or other magical beings. Offer prizes for the best-dressed duo. Offer “potion” drinks (colorful mocktails/cocktails in glass bottles).

Rewired road trips

Traveler signal. Travelers want spontaneous meet-ups and smarter routes. 38% would use AI to match with carpoolers who share preferences. Comfort rises when sharing the road with people who share background or identity.

Revenue ideas. Day passes that stack with fuel or snack partners. Special events for individuals to come to the course solo to meet new people. Host "Friendship Quest" night for people new to the local city. Each guest gets a “Friendship Passport” with prompts (e.g., “Find someone who’s traveled abroad,” “Meet someone who loves hiking”).

Hushed hobbies in nature

Traveler signal. 43% want trips that feel closer to nature.

Revenue ideas. Morning birdwatching packages. Guide led foraging sessions. Tree identification tours. Offer special event gathering around a campfire with s’mores, storytelling, and acoustic music. Co-host an event with the local astronomy club...maybe during a meteor shower.

Glow-cations and wellness

Traveler signal. About 80% are open to skin specific wellness travel. Many would use AI to pick a destination based on skin needs, hydration, or sleep.

What we can build. Shade and misting at staging zones, recovery decks near exits, gentle movement circuits, circadian friendly lighting.

Revenue ideas. “Reset” bundles, spa co-promotions, refillable bottles and hydration tablets. Host Yoga events. Host a “Glow in the Canopy,” where couples receive mini skin care kits with hydrating mists and SPF before their climb, emphasizing self-care and protection while enjoying the outdoors. Set up aromatherapy stations at rest points, where couples can try calming essential oils or create their own mini blends to take home,

Relationship “compatibility” trips

Traveler signal. Travelers will use trips to test how they click with partners, friends, or colleagues, including role reversals and constraint-based challenges.

Revenue ideas. Tiered packages with a facilitator and take-home playbooks. Market dates nights outside of valentines day. Partner with a local restaurant to offer a bundled experience: adventure park entry plus a romantic dinner reservation. Bring in a local tarot reader or fantasy “seer” to give couples whimsical “prophecies” about their romantic adventure together.
