Islands YMCA Ropes Course
Project Overview
Challenge Design Innovations (CDI) designed and built a high ropes course for Islands YMCA in Savannah, Georgia. The course provides a dedicated space for outdoor adventure, team building, and personal growth, helping participants challenge themselves while working together.
Built for a community-focused YMCA, the course supports hands-on learning and experiences that encourage confidence, communication, and teamwork. With 6 elements plus the climbing wall and zipline exit, this short circuit is great for smaller groups.
What Islands YMCA Offers
Located in Savannah, Islands YMCA serves children, families, and adults through fitness, recreation, youth development, and community programs. Its outdoor ropes course adds another way for participants to get active, connect with others, and develop new skills outside the traditional classroom or gym.
Design Highlights
- Purpose-built ropes course: Designed to support experiential learning, group challenges, and outdoor recreation.
- Team-building opportunities: Course activities encourage communication, problem-solving, trust, and cooperation.
- Built for YMCA programming: A versatile adventure facility that complements the YMCA's focus on youth development, summer camps, and community engagement.
At CDI, we believe a great ropes course is about more than the obstacles. It's about what people learn along the way. The Islands YMCA project reflects that approach, combining adventure with opportunities for teamwork, connection, and personal achievement.
