YMCA Camp Tockwogh Ropes Course
Project Overview
Challenge Design Innovations (CDI) designed and built a ropes course for YMCA Camp Tockwogh, located along the Chesapeake Bay in Worton, Maryland. The course gives campers an exciting way to challenge themselves, build confidence, and experience adventure high above the ground.
With a mix of climbing and aerial challenges, the ropes course encourages participants to push beyond their comfort zones while developing balance, determination, and problem-solving skills. It's the kind of experience campers remember long after summer ends.
What YMCA Camp Tockwogh Offers
Situated on more than 300 acres along Maryland's Eastern Shore, YMCA Camp Tockwogh has been creating outdoor experiences and lifelong memories for generations. The camp offers summer programs, school field trips, group retreats, and outdoor education opportunities.
Adventure activities are an important part of the Camp Tockwogh experience. Along with its ropes course, the camp offers climbing, zip lining, a giant swing, a Leap of Faith, and low ropes team-building activities. Each gives participants an opportunity to try something new, work together, and discover what they're capable of.

Why This Project Stands Out
- Adventure with a purpose: The ropes course creates opportunities for campers to develop courage, confidence, and independence.
- Challenge by choice: Participants are encouraged to set personal goals, try new experiences, and celebrate their accomplishments.
- More than summer camp: The course supports a variety of programs, including school groups, retreats, and team-building activities.
- Lasting memories: From climbing high above the ground to cheering on friends, the course helps create shared experiences that bring campers together.
At CDI, we know that some of the best lessons happen outside the classroom. Our work at YMCA Camp Tockwogh reflects that belief, creating a ropes course experience where adventure, personal growth, and teamwork come together.
Whether we're designing a challenge course for a YMCA, summer camp, school, or outdoor education center, our goal is the same: build engaging, long-lasting facilities that help people challenge
