SKYWILD at Greensboro Science Center Featured by Our State
Some aerial adventure parks are built around height.
SKYWILD at the Greensboro Science Center is built around something even more memorable: movement, animals, and the feeling of being part of the exhibit.
An Our State feature on the Greensboro Science Center highlighted SKYWILD as part of the center’s larger mix of aquarium, zoo, museum, and outdoor adventure experiences. The article describes the Greensboro Science Center as a three-in-one destination, with North Carolina’s first inland aquarium, animal exhibits, museum experiences, and SKYWILD.
Challenge Design Innovations was proud to design and build SKYWILD, the aerial adventure course featured in the article. Our State describes the attraction as “dangling, suspended, and engineered by Challenge Design Innovations...”
What makes SKYWILD stand out is its theme.
The course includes seven physically challenging overhead routes, organized by beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. The routes mimic animal habitats and movements, including elements inspired by gibbons, butterflies, and chameleons.
That kind of design takes an aerial adventure park beyond obstacles.
It turns the course into part of the story.
Guests are not just climbing through the trees. They are moving like animals, seeing the zoo from above, and becoming part of the experience themselves. The article even describes the concept as “humans on exhibit.”
For CDI, SKYWILD is a strong example of what can happen when a course is designed around a clear idea. The theme, layout, elements, guest flow, and setting all work together.
That is what makes the experience stick.
We’re proud to have played a role in helping the Greensboro Science Center bring this creative outdoor adventure experience to life.
