Crater Lake Zip Line - Sasquatch Hollow Kidz Course

Year:
2019
Location:
Klamath Falls, OR

What We Designed & Built

  • A fun and safe kids-only zipline course, tailored for ages 5–12 (4 if accompanied by an adult)
  • The course features:
    • Four progressively challenging ziplines, allowing kids to build confidence as they go
    • Two themed challenge bridges:
      • Rolling Rapids Bridge — swinging logs and wooden planks that test balance.
      • Sasquatch Bridge — oversized “Bigfoot” steps for bold strides
    • An engaging Spider Web crossing for climbing and balancing.
    • A thrilling Lava Tube Slide to cap off the experience and send kids back around for more fun
  • Built using the Koala Continuous Belay system, so kids stay securely attached throughout the course, enabling independent exploration with built-in safety

Safety, Supervision & Experience Flow

  • Kids start with ground school training, where guides fit gear and demonstrate safety procedures before the course begins
  • Guides provide continuous supervision from the ground and occasionally from the trees—always ready to coach or assist
  • The design lets kids repeat the course multiple times in a 90-minute window, maximizing engagement and value
  • A nearby comfort area lets parents relax and watch. They also have the option to join the full Zipline Canopy Tour if they meet the requirements

Why This Project Stands Out

  • Age-appropriate design balances thrill with accessibility.
  • Safety-first approach through ground training and continuous belay systems.
  • Built-in replayability keeps kids engaged throughout the session.
  • Family-focused layout, offering both supervision ease and optional adult participation.
  • Seamless integration into the natural setting of the Fremont‑Winema National Forest near Crater Lake National Park
